As an EMT I am very against Drinking and driving or even drugging and driving! Not only can they hurt themselves but what these irresponsible people do not understand is that they can kill someone else around them. I feel that the DWI Bus is a great idea because it keeps the cops on the road to protect and serve but still enforces the law strictly. I also agree with you in that the law is not strict enough because BUZZING AND DRIVING IS THE SAME THING! Just because they are over 21 and blow under a .08 BAC they don’t go to jail? That is absolutely absurd! The zero tolerance laws should apply to anyone, anywhere, anytime!!! If you are driving and you blow ANYTHING on the breathalyzer or you have any type of drug in your system, you should be taken off the road immediately and same laws should apply to you as if you blew a .08! Just recently, a member of my fire department passed away from a driver who was driving under the influence. The man in my FD was only 24/25 years old and the driver that hit his motorcycle was 33+! This man is of course in jail but a hero is dead because of a stupid decision! Sorry... this is just one topic I feel very strongly about! Great article!
